 WHO ARE LIONS?

Lions are people worldwide, 1.4 million in number, who volunteer time and effort to make life a little easier for those less fortunate.

 LIONS DISTRICT 22-C

The Lions of District 22-C serve Washington D. C., and Calvert, Charles, Montgomery, Prince George's and St. Mary's Counties in Maryland. The Lions of District 22-C have an outreach foundation (LCOF) that coordinate hearing and vision screening events, maintain a mobile health unit, and spearhead Lions informational outreach activities. District 22-C Lions support a camp for hearing and visually handicapped children and adults and provide camping opportunities for diabetic children. Lions throughout the District support leader dogs for the blind and a major research and development facility at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore - The Low Vision Research Foundation. Lions conduct many community based activities such a eyeglass purchases for the indigent, food baskets for those less fortunate, youth programs and scholarships, and the recycling of eyeglasses and hearing aids donated by the community.
