Who We
Are
Since 1956, the Lions of
District 22-C have been a community based, not-for
profit organization whose primary objective is to
prevent blindness and diabetes through sight-saving
outreach programs.
What We
Do
Early detection is the key to
preventing blindness and diabetes. We provide
health screenings, eyeglasses, and financial
assistance for sight saving medical treatments. Our
programs include, Mobile Health Unit Screening
Clinics, Eyeglass Recycling, Francis J. Garner
Memorial Fund and Sight First-Diabetes Education.
Why We
Do It
Lions recognize the impact
that prevention and education has on the community
at large and especially at-risk populations. Our
ambitious grassroots programs evolved through the
official Lions motto "We Serve".
Our
Service Area
Our service area includes
Montgomery, Prince George's, and Southern Maryland
Counties, as well as the District of Columbia. We
participate in health fairs, school functions,
church events, festivals, and other community
gatherings.
